Sudden chest pain that does not go away, pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back, or chest pain with sweating, nausea or shortness of breath requires an immediate call for emergency help. Do not wait for a cardiology appointment when these warning signs occur.

Recurrent symptoms or risk factors need medical assessment to determine appropriate tests and referral. Consult your doctor about recurrent palpitations, unexplained breathlessness, blood pressure, cholesterol or family-history concerns, seeking faster care for new or worsening symptoms.

Bring your medicine list, previous test results and notes on when symptoms occur, how long they last and what triggers them. Do not stop heart medication on your own. Find an appropriate specialist through the [doctor directory](<https://clinicsjo.com/en/doctors>).
