A dermatology consultation may help with persistent acne, a recurring rash, or a hair or nail problem that has not improved. Examination helps identify the cause and whether treatment or monitoring is needed. Similar-looking internet pictures are not enough for diagnosis.

Have a mole examined if it differs from your other moles, changes, bleeds or itches. A change does not necessarily mean cancer, but it deserves assessment rather than removal or cosmetic treatment before its nature is understood.

Note when the problem began and which treatments and products you have used. Bring earlier photographs if its appearance changes. Find a doctor in the [dermatology directory](<https://clinicsjo.com/en/specialty/dermatology>). Discuss benefits, risks and alternatives before any cosmetic procedure.
