### Follow the laboratory’s instructions

Abstinence from ejaculation is often requested for two to seven days, but use your laboratory’s specified interval. Collect the whole sample in the approved container, avoiding saliva or unapproved lubricants. Report any lost portion.

### Timing and transport matter

If home collection is permitted, follow arrival-time and temperature instructions; delays can affect results. Report medicines, recent fever or illness and collection difficulties. A limited home test is not necessarily equivalent to full laboratory analysis.

### Interpreting the numbers

Results are considered alongside health history, collection conditions and the couple’s assessment. Abnormal findings may require repeat or additional testing. Values below a reference range do not prove pregnancy impossible, and values within it do not guarantee conception.
