Retinal treatment depends on the condition: a tear, detachment and diabetic retinal disease are not the same problem. Options may include laser or surgery according to diagnosis.

## علاج الشبكية: التشخيص وتحديد أولوية التدخل

علاج الشبكية يختلف باختلاف المشكلة؛ فالتمزق والانفصال والاعتلال السكري ليست حالة واحدة. قد تتضمن الخيارات ليزرًا أو جراحة وفق التشخيص.

يحتاج الاختيار إلى فحص اختصاصي عيون وتقييم الشبكية. قد يُبحث استئصال الجسم الزجاجي في حالات مختارة لمعالجة نزف أو شد أو انفصال.

## Retinal treatment: diagnosis and urgency

Retinal treatment depends on the condition: a tear, detachment and diabetic retinal disease are not the same problem. Options may include laser or surgery according to diagnosis.

Selection requires an ophthalmologist's examination of the retina. Vitrectomy may be considered for selected bleeding, traction or detachment problems.

New flashes, many new floaters or a curtain-like shadow need urgent eye assessment. Do not wait for a routine appointment after sudden vision loss.
