Causes

- Bacterial infections: Bacteria including pneumococcus, meningococcus, and E. coli reach the middle ear through the blocked Eustachian tube causing bacterial infection.

- Adenoidectomy: If adenoids are significantly enlarged causing repeated Eustachian tube obstruction, removal may be recommended.
- Myringotomy: In severe cases with thick fluid accumulation, the doctor may make a small incision for drainage.
Lifestyle Changes and Home Care
