Decadron (dexamethasone) is a potent long-acting corticosteroid, ~25-30x stronger than natural cortisol as an anti-inflammatory. Prescribed in Jordan (prescription-only) for severe allergies, asthma exacerbations, autoimmune flares, cerebral edema and several oncology protocols. Never start or stop it on your own — abrupt withdrawal after prolonged use is dangerous.

Contraindications
- يُمنع ديكادرون في: العدوى الفطرية الجهازية غير المعالجة
- الحساسية للديكساميثازون
- وإعطاء اللقاحات الحية أثناء العلاج بجرعات مثبطة للمناعة. يُستخدم بحذر شديد في: السكري
- ارتفاع الضغط وقصور القلب
- القرحة الهضمية النشطة
- هشاشة العظام
- الجلوكوما
- الاضطرابات النفسية
- والعدوى الكامنة كالسل. خلال الحمل يُستخدم فقط عند الضرورة القصوى وبتقدير الطبيب.

- أهم تحذير على الإطلاق: لا توقف ديكادرون فجأة بعد استخدامه لأكثر من أسبوعين — يجب إنقاص الجرعة تدريجياً وفق جدول يحدده الطبيب
