Can pelvic-floor exercises help men after prostate surgery?
Pelvic-floor training may help some men regain urinary control after prostate treatment, with variable timing and benefit. It may support aspects of sexual function but is not a guaranteed treatment for erectile problems or premature ejaculation. Correct assessment matters.

Learn the correct action
Training before surgery may help when recommended. After surgery, follow the team’s instructions on restarting; avoid exercising with a urinary catheter in place unless explicitly instructed. A pelvic-health physiotherapist can check technique.
Not every problem means weakness
Pain or persistent tightness may need relaxation and assessment rather than extra contractions. Do not routinely practise by stopping urine flow, which can interfere with emptying.
Review progress
Improvement takes practice and follow-up, and other treatments may be needed. Burning, fever, difficulty passing urine or bleeding requires medical advice, not simply more repetitions.
