- يُمنع في: التسمم الحاد بالكحول أو المنومات أو الأفيونات
- مع مثبطات MAO أو خلال 14 يوماً منها

- ولدى الأطفال لتسكين ما بعد استئصال اللوز/اللحمية (خطر تنفسي موثق). لا يُستخدم بالحمل والرضاعة إلا بضرورة قصوى يقدرها الاختصاصي (انسحاب وليدي محتمل).
