How to book
- 1. Pick a doctor below: each profile shows the declared evening shift.
- 2. Call before you go — hours change on holidays and some clinics work by appointment only.
- 3. For severe or sudden symptoms do not wait for a clinic: call 911.
Seeing a psychiatrist in the evening
Many people prefer to see a psychiatrist in the evening or on Friday, the main weekly day off in Jordan, because it is easier to attend without missing work or university or having to explain an absence. This page relies on the hours each doctor declares, so call before you go to confirm the appointment and the session length.
Fine for an evening or Friday visit
- Persistent sadness or loss of interest affecting work or study, without thoughts of harming yourself.
- Anxiety or panic attacks that settle, or sleep problems that have lasted for weeks.
- Attention and concentration difficulties in children or adults that need assessment.
- Follow-up sessions and reviewing psychiatric medicines and their side effects with the doctor.
Go to the emergency department instead
- Thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or a plan to act on them: call 911 now and do not stay alone.
- Thoughts of harming others, or severe agitation that puts the person or those around them at risk.
- Taking too much of a medicine or another substance, even if the person seems well.
- Sudden confusion or hallucinations, or fever with severe muscle stiffness after starting a new medicine.
Tips
- Call ahead to confirm the shift and ask whether the visit is with the psychiatrist or a psychotherapist.
- Bring your current medicine boxes and previous reports, and note your main symptoms and questions beforehand.
- Choose a time when you are not rushed, and bring someone you trust if that makes you feel more at ease.
General information only; it does not replace a medical consultation.
