What should I know before breast augmentation surgery?
Breast volume can be increased with implants or, in suitable cases, fat transfer. The choice depends on goals, tissue and health. Implants are not lifetime devices. Recovery and longevity are not guaranteed, and future imaging, follow-up or additional surgery may be needed.

Discuss more than size
Ask about implant type, surface, position, scars and possible effects on sensation and breastfeeding. Results in photographs do not establish the best operation for you. A breast lift differs from adding volume.
Plan long-term monitoring
Infection, bleeding, capsular tightening, rupture or shape changes can occur. Rare cancers involving tissue around implants also warrant discussion. Keep device details and your follow-up plan.
Allow for recovery
Discuss work, lifting, driving and exercise for the actual procedure rather than relying on a one-week recovery promise. New swelling, increasing pain, redness or discharge needs review, even years later.
