What is mesotherapy, and is its effectiveness for hair and skin established?

Quick answer

Mesotherapy describes injecting substances into or beneath the skin rather than one medicine with a standard formula. It is marketed for hair, skin rejuvenation or fat, but evidence and authorization depend on the substance and intended use. Calling a mixture vitamins does not establish safety or effectiveness.

Ask exactly what is injected

Request each ingredient, concentration, source and reason for use. Evidence for one product in one indication does not validate every mixture or body area. Before-and-after photographs do not replace a controlled study.

What can go wrong?

Infection, allergic reactions, painful lumps and scarring are possible. Regulators have warned about unapproved fat-dissolving products. Do not buy substances for self-injection or accept a mixture with undisclosed ingredients.

Compare with established options

Hair loss or pigmentation should be diagnosed first. Discuss evidence quality, alternatives, cost and follow-up before agreeing. Painful nodules, increasing redness or discharge after injection need assessment rather than waiting until the planned course ends.
