How we chose this list

Every matching clinic profile in this country was scored out of 100 for how complete and checkable its published information is, and the highest scores appear here in order. Featured placement does not change a profile's score, and the score does not measure treatment quality or outcomes — it tells you how much you can check before you call. Profiles marked “Featured” are shown first, in the display order set by the platform administration.

Ties are broken by the number of approved reviews, then published years of experience. Confirm the service, branch, appointment, fees and insurance coverage with the practice before visiting.

When do you need this specialty or procedure?

Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry that restores and replaces teeth. It covers crowns that cap a weakened or heavily filled tooth, bridges that fill a gap using neighbouring teeth, veneers, removable dentures and restorations fitted on dental implants. The aim is to bring back chewing, speech, comfort and appearance. It also protects the teeth and gums that remain.

You may want to book an assessment if you notice any of these:

  • A tooth that is cracked, chipped or broken, or a large filling that keeps failing
  • A tooth that has had root canal treatment and may need protection
  • One or more missing teeth, especially if neighbouring teeth are shifting or chewing feels uneven
  • An old crown, bridge or denture that is loose, painful or no longer fits
  • Persistent tooth or gum pain, bleeding gums when brushing, or sensitivity that does not settle
  • It is time for a routine check-up. Many dentists suggest one about every six months, though your dentist may advise a different interval.

Some problems should not wait for a routine appointment. Seek urgent care if you have:

  • Swelling of the face, jaw or neck that is spreading
  • Fever with dental swelling
  • Difficulty swallowing, breathing or opening your mouth
  • Bleeding after an extraction that will not stop with firm pressure
  • A serious injury to the face or jaw

In these situations call 911 or go to an emergency department.

If an adult tooth is knocked out, contact a dentist straight away. Handle the tooth by the crown rather than the root.

How to choose among the clinics here

People who search for the best prosthodontics clinics in Jordan usually want a clinic that suits their particular case. A ranking cannot tell you that. These points will help you compare:

  • Who will treat you. Some profiles name a dentist listed in prosthodontics. Others name general dentists who publish crown and bridge services. If your case is complex, such as several missing teeth, a full-mouth restoration or implant-supported teeth, ask who plans and who fits the restoration.
  • Team versus solo practice. Multi-doctor centres can coordinate a surgeon, a gum specialist, a root canal specialist and the restoring dentist under one roof. Single-dentist clinics can offer continuity with one person. Either can work well. Ask how referrals are handled if you need a step the clinic does not offer.
  • Materials and options. Several clinics list zirconia, porcelain or PFM (porcelain-fused-to-metal) crowns. Ask the dentist to explain the options for your tooth, how long each step takes, and what maintenance is expected.
  • Imaging. Many profiles list panoramic (OPG) or periapical X-rays. Ask whether imaging is done on site.
  • Hours and visits. Crowns and bridges usually take more than one appointment: preparation, impressions or scans, a temporary, and the final fitting. Pick a clinic whose hours fit your week. Note that Thursday hours are shorter at several clinics.
  • Location. You will probably return several times, so a clinic near home or work makes follow-up easier.

What to expect at the first visit

The first appointment is normally an examination and discussion rather than treatment. The dentist will look at the teeth, gums and bite. They may take X-rays and will check whether any decay, gum disease or root problems need treating before a crown or bridge.

Bring:

  • Your ID and insurance card, if you have one
  • A list of your medicines and medical conditions. Mention blood thinners, diabetes, heart conditions, pregnancy and allergies.
  • Any previous dental X-rays or treatment records
  • Your current denture or retainer, if you wear one

Questions worth asking:

  • What are my options, including doing nothing, and what are the trade-offs of each?
  • How many visits will this take, and will I have a temporary?
  • Which dentist will do each step?
  • How should I care for the crown or bridge, and how often should it be checked?
  • What should I do if the temporary comes off or the tooth hurts afterwards?

It is reasonable to take time to decide, or to ask for a written treatment plan before you agree to a course of work.

Insurance, fees and booking: what to ask before the appointment

No consultation fees are published on this page. Ask each clinic directly for the examination cost and an itemised estimate for any crown, bridge or implant work.

Many of the clinics list insurers. Arab Orient Insurance appears most often, and two clinics, in Tafilah and Aqaba, each list 12 insurers. Before you book, ask:

  • Is my insurer and my specific policy accepted at this clinic?
  • Are crowns, bridges or other prosthetic work covered, or only basic treatment?
  • Is prior approval needed, and does the clinic submit it?
  • What will I pay myself, and when?

When you book, give a short description of your problem so the clinic can allow enough time. If you need a particular dentist, check which days they attend. One centre notes that its opening hours do not mean every clinician is present all day.

Getting there

This is a kingdom-wide list. Most clinics are in Amman, in Tabarbour, Gardens, Khalda, Fifth Circle, Marj Al-Hamam and Jubaiha. The rest are in Aqaba, Tafilah and Ma'an. Each entry gives the clinic's own building or landmark details. Many clinics are on upper floors of commercial complexes, so ask whether there is a lift if you have mobility needs, and ask about parking nearby. Most clinics listed here open Saturday to Thursday. Confirm Friday availability directly if you need it.

Checklist before you book

  • Confirm the clinic offers the specific restoration you need: crown, bridge, veneer, denture or implant-supported tooth
  • Ask which dentist will plan and fit the work, and on which days they attend
  • Check your insurer and whether prosthetic work is covered
  • Ask for the examination fee and an itemised estimate before treatment starts
  • Ask how many visits are needed and plan around the clinic's hours
  • Bring your ID, insurance card, medicine list and any previous X-rays
  • Know the urgent warning signs, and call 911 for spreading swelling, breathing or swallowing difficulty, or serious facial injury

Frequently asked questions

How was this list of prosthodontics clinics in Jordan chosen?
Profiles are ordered by a 100-point score of how complete and checkable their published information is. The score counts platform verification, approved reviews, description, photos, services, linked doctors, insurers, confirmed hours, map location, years established and an official account. Featured profiles appear first with a badge. The order does not measure treatment quality or outcomes, so use it as a starting point for your own comparison.
What is the difference between a crown and a bridge?
A crown is a cap that covers and protects a single damaged, weakened or root-treated tooth. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by attaching false teeth to crowns on the neighbouring teeth, or on implants. Which option suits you depends on the health of the surrounding teeth, gums and bone. Only an examination by a dentist can decide that.
Do I need a prosthodontist, or can a general dentist place a crown?
General dentists routinely place crowns and bridges, and many clinics here list these services. A prosthodontist focuses on restoring and replacing teeth. Some people prefer one for complex cases, such as several missing teeth or full-mouth work. One centre on this list names a dentist under prosthodontics. Ask any clinic who will plan and fit your restoration.
Does dental insurance in Jordan cover crowns and bridges?
Coverage depends on your insurer and your specific policy. Some policies cover only basic treatment, while others include prosthetic work with limits or prior approval. Several clinics here list insurers such as Arab Orient Insurance, NatHealth-linked policies, MedGulf and MetLife Alico. Confirm both that the clinic accepts your policy and that the planned treatment is covered before you start.
How many visits does a crown usually take?
A crown usually needs more than one visit. The dentist examines and prepares the tooth, records its shape with an impression or scan, and often fits a temporary crown. The final crown is fitted at a later appointment. The exact number of visits depends on the clinic, the material and your case, so ask for a timeline at the first appointment.
When is a dental problem an emergency?
Call 911 or go to an emergency department if you have facial or neck swelling that is spreading, fever with swelling, trouble breathing, swallowing or opening your mouth, or a serious jaw or face injury. Bleeding after an extraction that will not stop with firm pressure also needs urgent care. A knocked-out adult tooth needs a dentist as soon as possible.
Are there prosthodontics clinics outside Amman on this list?
Yes. Besides several Amman clinics, the list includes two clinics in Downtown Aqaba and two in Downtown Tafilah, plus a multi-specialty centre in Downtown Ma'an with a dental clinic. Each entry gives the clinic's building or landmark and confirmed hours, which helps when choosing somewhere you can easily return to for follow-up visits.
Why do some profiles appear first?
Profiles marked “Featured” appear first, in the display order set by the platform administration. They are a featured placement, not a measure of clinical quality; the rest of the list follows the published profile score. A featured profile shown on a district page may practise elsewhere in Amman — check the address on its card.
