How often should I shower without drying my skin?
There is no single weekly shower schedule for everyone. Sweat, activity, occupation and skin condition affect the need. Short showers with warm rather than hot water, a gentle cleanser and moisturizer when skin is dry can reduce irritation.

Technique matters more than a fixed number
You may need to wash after sweating or getting dirty, while long hot showers and vigorous scrubbing can worsen dryness. Dry-skin guidance commonly recommends limiting bathing to about five to ten minutes and avoiding irritating fragranced products.
After washing
Pat rather than rub the skin dry, and apply moisturizer while it is still slightly damp. Choose a product your skin tolerates; creams or ointments may suit dry skin better than very light lotions. With eczema, follow the agreed moisturizing and treatment plan.
Itching is not always a hygiene problem
Repeated cracking, persistent itching or a rash that does not improve warrants assessment. More forceful washing is not an automatic solution and may increase irritation. Adjust the routine to your skin without neglecting hygiene after dirt exposure or activity.
