How to find an optometrist near you
1. Share your location or pick your area
Tap “Use my location”, or choose your governorate or district if you prefer not to share it. Distances are measured from that point.
2. Narrow the list
Keep only doctors available now or female doctors, and open a profile for qualifications, clinic address and accepted insurance.
3. Call, message or get directions
Every card shows the distance, and the profile has the contact options and a directions link to the clinic.
Before you choose an optometrist
An optometrist measures how well you see, works out the prescription for glasses and contact lenses, and helps choose, fit and adjust them. Optometrists are not eye doctors, so they refer you to an ophthalmologist if they notice signs of eye disease or injury. A nearby optical shop makes routine eye tests, collecting glasses and getting them adjusted or repaired much easier.
Whether you searched for “eye test near me”, “glasses shop near me”, “contact lens fitting near me” or “optometrist near me”, this page lists the published profiles in Jordan and sorts them by distance from you.
When to see an optometrist
- Blurry vision at distance or up close, or trouble reading signs and screens clearly.
- Headaches or eye strain after reading or long hours in front of screens.
- Small print getting harder to read with age, and you think you need reading glasses.
- A child sitting very close to screens or squinting to see the board at school.
- You want to try contact lenses, renew old glasses or repair a broken frame.
What to bring to your visit
- Bring your current glasses or contact lenses and the lens box that shows the prescription.
- Bring your last glasses prescription or any report from an eye doctor if you have one.
- Mention general conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure, your medicines and any past eye surgery.
- If you wear contact lenses, ask the shop whether you should take them out for a while before the test.
When to go to the emergency department instead
- Sudden loss of all or part of the vision in one or both eyes means calling 911 immediately.
- If a chemical gets into the eye, rinse it with running water at once and then go straight to the emergency department.
- A sudden shower of flashes and floaters, or a curtain over part of your vision, needs an eye doctor urgently.
- Severe eye pain with redness and headache or vomiting, a direct eye injury, or a painful red eye with contact lenses needs emergency care.
