How to find a periodontist near you

  1. 1. Share your location or pick your area

Tap “Use my location”, or choose your governorate or district if you prefer not to share it. Distances are measured from that point.

  2. 2. Narrow the list

Keep only doctors available now or female doctors, and open a profile for qualifications, clinic address and accepted insurance.

  3. 3. Call, message or get directions

Every card shows the distance, and the profile has the contact options and a directions link to the clinic.

Before you choose a periodontist

A periodontist treats diseases of the gums and the bone that supports the teeth, from simple gingivitis that clears with good cleaning to periodontitis, which leads to bone loss and loose teeth, and also looks after receding gums and the gums around dental implants. Gum treatment usually involves deep-cleaning sessions followed by maintenance visits every few months, so a nearby clinic makes it easier to keep them up. The list includes dentists who have added periodontics to their profile, so ask what training the dentist has in this field.

Whether you searched for “gum specialist near me”, “gum disease treatment near me”, “periodontal clinic near me” or “periodontist near me”, this page lists the published profiles in Jordan and sorts them by distance from you.

When to see a periodontist

  • Gums that bleed often when you floss or brush, blood on your pillow in the morning, or puffy gums that are sore to touch.
  • Receding gums that make the teeth look longer or expose the roots, with sensitivity along the gum line.
  • Teeth that have become loose or drifted apart with new gaps, or a change in the way your teeth meet when you bite.
  • Bad breath or a bad taste that cleaning does not fix, or pus coming from between the gums and teeth.
  • A gum check if you have diabetes, smoke or are pregnant, have a family history of early tooth loss, are planning implants, or notice bleeding and swelling around an implant.

What to bring to your visit

  • If you have diabetes, bring your latest HbA1c result and your medicine list, as poorly controlled diabetes and gum disease each make the other worse.
  • Be open about smoking, shisha (argileh) or vaping, since smoking can mask gum bleeding and slows healing after treatment.
  • Mention medicines that can cause gum overgrowth or a dry mouth, such as some epilepsy, blood pressure and immune-suppressing medicines, as your treatment may need coordinating with your doctor.
  • Any recent X-rays or gum measurements from a previous clinic and the date of your last deep cleaning, plus questions about the number of sessions and how often maintenance visits follow.

When to go to the emergency department instead

  • A gum abscess with facial swelling that spreads quickly, fever, or difficulty swallowing or breathing: call 911 or go to emergency.
  • Gum bleeding that will not stop with pressure, or spontaneous bleeding with easy bruising, nosebleeds or unexplained tiredness, which may point to a blood problem needing urgent medical assessment.
  • Sudden severe gum pain with gray ulcers, bleeding, foul breath and fever, especially with weakened immunity, needs same-day care, and the emergency department if you feel generally unwell.
  • For people with diabetes: a gum infection or abscess with very high sugar readings, vomiting, intense thirst or confusion needs the emergency department.

General information only; it does not replace a medical consultation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a periodontist near me?
Tap “Use my location” at the top of this page and allow location access: the periodontists are re-sorted by distance from you, with the distance on every card. If you prefer not to share your location, pick your governorate or district instead.
Does ClinicsJo keep my location?
Your approximate location (rounded to about 100 metres) is only used to calculate distances for this search. It is not linked to an account and it is never added to the page address, so a shared link does not reveal where you are.
Where are periodontists listed in Jordan?
ClinicsJo lists 13 periodontists in 3 governorates. Most are in Amman (11), Zarqa (1), Jerash (1). Each governorate link below opens the full local list.
What if there is no periodontist close to me?
The search widens step by step (5, 10, 25, 50, 100 then 200 km) until it finds listings, and tells you how far it went. You can also pick a neighbouring governorate from the list.
Can I see who is available now?
Turn on “Available now” to keep doctors whose declared working hours include the current time in Amman. Hours are declared by each clinic, so call before you go.
What is the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep gum cleaning?
A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar above and at the gum line, while a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) cleans the root surfaces inside the pockets below the gums. It is often done under local anesthesia over one or more visits, and the dentist re-measures the pockets a few weeks later to decide the next step.
Can gum disease be cured for good?
Gingivitis usually clears with good cleaning at home and professional cleaning at the clinic. Periodontitis can be stopped and kept under control, but lost bone does not usually grow back on its own, so daily care and regular maintenance visits are needed. Stopping smoking and keeping blood sugar under control help the treatment work.
